Master's Commission New Covenant Church

'My house is a house of
prayer for all peoples.'
(Isaiah 56:7)

Leviticus 26:14-16 says, “But if you do not obey Me and do not carry out all these commandments, if, instead , you reject My statutes, and if your soul abhors My ordinances so as not to carry out all My commandments, and so break My covenant, I, in turn, will do this to you: I will appoint over you a sudden terror, consumption and fever that will waste away the eyes and cause the soul to pine away; also, you will sow your seed uselessly, for your enemies will eat it up.”

These verses say that all the commandments in Leviticus must be followed, not just the statutes that some homophobic Christians want to pull out to condemn gays and lesbians.

Going back to Leviticus 18:22 which states that “you shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female...” does not refer to sex between two homosexual men.

Homosexual men do not think of their partners as women, nor are their partners playing the role of a woman during sex. A homosexual male would lie with a man as if he were a man and a homosexual male wants his mate to be a male not a female.

This verse is really referring to the substitution of a man for a woman. It is really referring to the substitution and utilization of the body of a man by another heterosexual man to the preferred body of a woman. It is normal for a homosexual male to have sexual relations with another homosexual male because that is their nature and they have no desire to be with a female. It, however, would be against the nature of a heterosexual male to have sexual relations with another male, thinking of that man as a woman.

If the Bible really teaches that homosexuality is an abomination, then why would the verses in Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 only address male homosexuality and not female homosexuality? Where in the Bible does it ever show someone being charged with the crime of committing a homosexual act? It simply is not there because homosexuality was not a crime.

So many Christians use the Book of Leviticus as a tool to condemn homosexuality where Jesus only quoted one verse in Leviticus and that verse is Leviticus 19:18 which says “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Jesus never said one word against homosexuality or sexual orientation, yet some of our heterosexual brothers and sisters in Christ find it necessary to condemn gays and lesbians for their sexual orientation, even though Jesus never did.

God loves all His children and no one should ever call a child of God an abomination. God created all of us and He never makes a mistake. To call a homosexual a defect of nature is absolutely absurd. I will close this teaching on Leviticus with the verse below.

1 John 4:20-21
“If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.”

Deuteronomy 23:17

“There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.”

The word translated as sodomite is the Hebrew word qadesh which means to be holy; to sanctify, a sacred person, i.e. a (male) devotee (by prostitution) to licentious idolatry.

The above verse simply refers to ritual or temple prostitution regardless if it is practiced by a male or female. The Hebrew word for whore is qdeshah which is a female devotee to prostitution.
