The unchanging Jesus

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus is the timeless one, eternal and unchanging in which there is no deviation. Notice what God the Father says about His Son Jesus.

In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.

Hebrews 1:10-12

It is through the name of Jesus that people were healed back in New Testament times and it is through His name that people are healed today. Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18: In My name...they will place their hands on the sick, and they will recover.

Peter attested to the fact that Jesus was responsible for the healing that took place in Acts 4:9-10: If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how he was healed, then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.

We have the same authority to use Jesus name to heal the sick as the Apostles did. The healings that took place then take place now. Jesus is still responsible for the healings. The main difference between the Apostles and Christians today is the fact that the Apostles knew who they were in Christ, they knew the power and authority contained in the name of Jesus and they exercised that authority with conviction.

Most Christians today could not command a fly to get off a elephant’s back. Why? Because they are not aware of the rights given to them by Jesus. They simply cannot comprehend the power contained in Jesus’ name.
