Paul's Thorn

Master's Commission New Covenant Church

'My house is a house of
prayer for all peoples.'
(Isaiah 56:7)

The following information about healing has been prepared by our healing minister. This teaching covers some of the misconceptions about "Paul's Thorn." It is God's will that everyone be in good health and healed of all their diseases and infirmities. May God bless you as you read this teaching on healing.

Healing is included in the Atonement - Paul's thorn and other unscriptural teachings

I have read many articles written by those who state that healing is not included in the Atonement, therefore concluding that it is not God's will to heal all.  I find this very disheartening.
As one who is called by God to be a healer and to teach divine healing; I have the duty to counter their objections and show people why their deductions are simply untrue.

Healing is included in the Atonement

Isaiah 53:4-5

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God and afflicted.  But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Some people say the sickness Isaiah was referring to was Jesus bearing our spiritual sickness or sin only. This deduction is only half true. The truth is, Jesus bore both our spiritual and our physical sickness on the cross. This is what Isaiah is referring to in Isaiah 53:4-5. Sin affects us in different ways. It affects our spirit, soul and body differently. And when we allow sin in, it will always manifest in the body as sickness. Therefore, sickness is actually iniquity in the body.

I am going to show you how this is true. Let's take a closer look at verse 4.

The Hebrew word for griefs is choliy which means sickness. If you look this word up, you will see that it is translated as disease in 2 Kings 1:2 & 8:8-9, 2 Chronicles 16:12 & 21:18. It is translated as sickness in Deuteronomy 7:15 & 28:61, 1 Kings 17:17, 2 Kings 13:14, 2 Chronicles 21:15 & 21:19, Psalm 41:3, Eccl 5:17, Isaiah 38:9 and Hosea 5:13. It is also translated as sicknesses in Deuteronomy 28:59.
