• it shows the positive, good, gracious, and merciful impact God has on our lives
• it shows the miraculous power of God
• it shows that no one is beyond God's help
• it shows that there is no problem or situation that God can not help you with
• it reminds us of where we came from and that God is with us as we move forward on our journey
